Distribution

FMCG distribution software for distributors

Run route-to-market in one system: areas and routes, warehouses and vans, prices and deals, credit, returnables and cash, with every seller’s day visible at head office while the vans are still out.

Depot to doorstep

One record from the depot to the doorstep

FMCG distribution runs on thin margins and many small drops, and margin leaks through the gaps between systems: stock that left the depot but never reached an invoice, a discount nobody approved, credit to a customer who already owes too much, crates that went out and never came back, cash that came in short.

SalesBlitz closes those gaps by making them one record. The transfer that loads the van, the invoice at the shop, the payment, the crate count and the cash-up all point at each other, and every change is audit-logged.

It has two halves: the Android handheld your sellers use on the route (see van sales software), and the web back office where you plan, price, control and report. Your ERP can stay the master of products, prices and stock through ERP integration.

In the back office

What a distributor runs in SalesBlitz

Routes and coverage

Areas, routes and the customers on them, route-days scheduled per seller, and a coverage map of who was visited, who bought and who was missed.

Warehouses and vans

Depots and vans each hold their own stock. Goods received, depot-to-van transfers and stock takes feed one ledger, and an open stock take stops that van starting its next run.

Pricing and deals

Price lists by customer type and currency, with quantity bands and date ranges. Deals give one customer a special price for a period, approved by email link or in the portal before any seller can use it.

Credit control

Credit sales on or off, a limit per customer or a company default, a hard stop on the handheld, and aged debtors and headroom in the reports.

Returnables

Crates and bottles tracked per customer and per van, with transfers, receipts, counts, and the value each seller is answerable for.

Cash and cashbooks

Cashbooks per currency for sellers and the office, transfers between them, a blind cash-up after every run, and short or over amounts per seller.

How it works

A distribution week on SalesBlitz

  1. Set up the business

Products and their suppliers, price lists, customers on routes, warehouses and vans, and roles that decide who sees which menus and reports and who may approve customers or receive cash.

  2. Plan the week

Schedule which seller runs which route on which day, with a sales target for each run if you want one.

  3. Load

Receive goods into the depot and transfer them to the vans.

  4. Sell

Sellers run their routes on the handheld, online or off, and each run closes with a cash-up.

  5. Control

The office reviews flagged events, such as a sale off the planned route or a price that changed while a handheld was offline, approves new customers and deals, and receives the cash.

  6. Report

The day-end report arrives by email each evening, and every sales, stock, money, crate and seller report exports to Excel.

Reports

Reports a distribution manager actually uses

  • Sales by product, grouped by principal, category, seller, route, area, customer type, currency or period, beside the previous period.
  • Customer sales: top and bottom customers, new customers, and those whose buying dropped.
  • Non-buyers, no-sale reasons, and customers not visited in a given number of days.
  • The seller scorecard: schedule adherence, coverage, strike rate, lines per productive call, drop size, targets met, and cash short or over.
  • Stock on hand and movements, and stock-take variance, per warehouse or van.
  • Debtors and credit, collections and the collection rate, and cash-ups.
  • Crates held by customers, issued against returned, and the crate liability.

Each report exports to Excel (.xlsx) and CSV, and each role sees only the report sections you give it. Manufacturers whose brands you carry can be sent their figures by principal: see SalesBlitz for manufacturers.

Who it’s for

Distributors with vans on the road

  • Distributors of beverages, dairy, bakery, snacks, confectionery, and household and personal care.
  • Distributors carrying several principals’ brands, who need to report by principal.
  • Wholesalers with route sales alongside the warehouse.
  • Groups running more than one company, switching between them with one login.

Questions

Distribution software: your questions

What is FMCG distribution software?

Software that runs the route-to-market side of fast-moving consumer goods: which outlets are visited when, what they are charged, what was sold from which van, what is owed and what came back. SalesBlitz covers the field with an Android handheld and the office with a web portal.

Is SalesBlitz a distributor management system (DMS)?

For a distributor, yes: it manages your own sellers, stock, prices, credit and cash. Manufacturers sometimes use “DMS” for a system that watches many distributors at once. SalesBlitz doesn’t give a manufacturer a login into its distributors’ data, but each distributor can report and export its sales by principal.

Does it support direct store delivery (DSD)?

Yes. SalesBlitz is built for the van-to-store model, where the van carries the stock and the seller sells, invoices and hands over the goods in one visit.

Can we carry several principals’ products?

Yes. Each product has a supplier, its principal, with the supplier’s product code. Sales, returns and stock reports group and filter by principal.

How do deals and discounts stay under control?

A deal is a special unit price for one customer, for a set period and quantity, sent to the named sellers only after every named approver has approved it. The handheld applies it only within its dates, and selling past the agreed quantity is flagged.

Can we run more than one company?

Yes. One login can belong to several companies and switch between them, and each company’s data stays separate.

What does it cost?

It is priced per van per month, with every feature on every plan: $17 on your own Android device, $19 with receipts printed on a Bluetooth printer, and $30 with a Sunmi V2 Pro handheld whose repair and maintenance are on us. Back-office users are free.
