Manufacturers

Sales and distribution software for manufacturers

Whether your own vans sell to the trade or your distributors do, SalesBlitz records each secondary sale where it happens: at the outlet, by product and principal, on a handheld that works offline.

Two routes to market

Two ways manufacturers use SalesBlitz

Your own fleet: direct store delivery

If your factory sells straight to retailers from its own vans, SalesBlitz is your van sales and route-to-market system: routes and journey plans, van stock loaded from the factory warehouse, invoices and fiscal receipts at the outlet, and cash and crates accounted for at the end of every run.

Through distributors

If distributors carry your brands, a distributor on SalesBlitz has your products set up with you as their principal. Its sales, returns and stock report and export by principal, so your secondary-sales figures come from the system that made the sales instead of being re-keyed into a spreadsheet.

Secondary sales

Secondary sales, by principal

Secondary sales, from the distributor to the outlet, are where a brand is won or lost, and they are the hardest figures for a manufacturer to see. In SalesBlitz they are not a report somebody builds afterwards: each invoice line already carries the product, the principal, the outlet, the area, the route, the seller and the time.

What reports by principal

  • Sales by product: units, invoices, customers, sales, tax, returns and net sales, grouped by principal and then by product, category, area, route, customer type or period, beside the previous period.
  • The sales register, one row per invoice line, with the principal on every row.
  • Returns by principal, and stock on hand, movements and stock-take variance by principal.
  • Customer sales filtered to one principal’s products: who buys, who is new, and whose buying dropped.
  • The day-end report, emailed each evening, can split the day by supplier.

Every report exports to Excel and CSV. A principal doesn’t get its own login to a distributor’s SalesBlitz: the distributor decides what to share.

Execution

What happens in the field, measured

Coverage

A coverage map per route shows outlets visited, visited with a sale, and not visited. Customers not visited in a given number of days, and repeat non-buyers, have their own report.

Strike rate and drop size

The seller scorecard counts schedule adherence, coverage, strike rate, lines per productive call and drop size from what was recorded, with nothing extrapolated.

Proof of visit

Every visit carries a GPS position and its distance from the outlet, and a visit without a sale carries a reason.

Price discipline

Prices come from price lists by customer type, and a special price only from a deal that every named approver has approved.

Returnables

Crates and bottles out and back per outlet and per van, with the value each seller is answerable for.

Your ERP stays the master

Products, prices and stock come from your ERP; each closed run goes back to it. See ERP integration.

How it works

Running your own fleet on SalesBlitz

  1. Bring in your catalogue

Connect your ERP, or import products, price lists and customers from Excel.

  2. Set up warehouses and devices

The factory warehouse and each van hold their own stock. Register a handheld per seller.

  3. Plan routes

Put outlets on routes and schedule which seller runs which route on which day.

  4. Sell and deliver from the van

Invoice, print, collect and count crates at each outlet, online or off.

  5. Close, cash up, send back

Each run closes with a blind cash-up and goes back to your ERP as one document.

Who it’s for

Manufacturers who sell to the trade

  • Beverage, dairy, bakery and food manufacturers with their own van fleets.
  • Manufacturers whose distributors run on SalesBlitz and can report by principal.
  • Manufacturers in Zimbabwe who need fiscalised receipts on van sales: see ZIMRA fiscalisation.

Questions

For manufacturers: your questions

What are secondary sales?

Sales from a distributor, or a manufacturer’s own depot, to the outlet: the shop, bar or supermarket. Primary sales go from the factory to the distributor, and sell-out is what the outlet sells on to consumers.

Can a manufacturer see its distributors’ sales directly?

Not with a login of its own. A distributor on SalesBlitz reports its sales, returns and stock by principal and exports them to Excel or CSV to share with you, straight from the system that made the sales.

We sell direct. Can SalesBlitz run our own vans?

Yes. Your factory warehouse and each van hold their own stock, sellers run scheduled routes on Android handhelds, and every run closes with a cash-up. It is the same van sales system distributors use.

Does it connect to our ERP?

Yes, through the Sync API. Products, prices, stock and taxes come in from the ERP by code, and each closed selling run goes back as one document with its invoices, payments, visits and returnables.

Does it handle returnable crates and bottles?

Yes. Crates and bottles issued and collected are recorded at every visit, per customer and per van, with limits, transfers, counts and reports of what customers hold.

Which countries does it work in?

Zimbabwe first, with ZiG and US dollars and ZIMRA fiscalisation through Fiscalizer. SalesBlitz also serves Zambia, Malawi and Botswana, where everything but the ZIMRA fiscalisation works the same.
