Van sales and distribution software in Zimbabwe

Built for the way goods are sold in Zimbabwe: ZiG and US dollar prices and cash on the same route, VAT and surtaxes worked out on the handheld, ZIMRA fiscalisation through Fiscalizer, and sellers who keep selling where the signal drops.

ZiG and USD

Two currencies, kept properly apart

Zimbabwean trade runs in US dollars and ZiG (ZWG), often on the same route and in the same shop. SalesBlitz treats each currency as its own thing instead of converting everything at the counter:

  • Price lists per currency, so a product’s ZiG price and its US dollar price are each set on purpose.
  • Each invoice is in one currency and is paid in that currency.
  • Cashbooks hold one currency each, so a seller cashes up “USD Cash” and “ZiG Cash” separately, in a blind count.
  • Each currency has its exchange rate, and a transfer between cashbooks in different currencies records the rate used.
  • Credit limits are judged in your main currency, across everything a customer owes.

Several trading currencies are part of every plan: see pricing.

ZIMRA

ZIMRA fiscalisation that doesn’t hold up the van

With fiscalisation switched on, the handheld sends every invoice to Fiscalizer, a fiscalisation service that submits it to ZIMRA. The sale never waits: the receipt prints at once with a QR code for the fiscalised invoice, and an invoice made out of signal is sent when the handheld reconnects.

Fiscalizer stores and forwards, so an outage at ZIMRA stops nothing. A run closes only when every invoice and credit note in it has been accepted, so nothing is left unfiscalised. Each product needs its HS code, and the customer’s TIN and VAT number go on the fiscal invoice when you have them.

The whole flow, setup included, is on the ZIMRA fiscalisation page.

Tax

VAT and surtaxes, on the handheld

Prices are VAT-inclusive at the standard 15.5%, with zero-rated and exempt products told apart. On top of the products, a surtax is a compliance charge, such as a withholding tax on a buyer with a TIN but no VAT number. Each surtax can be:

  • a percentage of net sales, gross sales or VAT, or a fixed amount per unit set for each currency;
  • limited to certain products, customer types or a customer’s tax status, with start and end dates;
  • VAT-bearing or not.

The receipt shows the products and VAT, then the compliance section, then the amount payable. A credit note reverses exactly the surtax on the lines it credits, and the surtax reports, with a per-invoice CSV export, support your returns.

On the road

Built for the routes outside the cities

Offline-first

The handheld keeps what the run needs and sells, prints, takes payments, records crates and adds customers with no signal, then syncs when it finds one.

Signed in for weeks

A seller’s session lasts at least 30 days, so a handheld out of coverage for days isn’t locked out at a customer’s door.

Printers in the hand

Sunmi handheld terminals print receipts on the spot, 58 or 80 mm wide. Android phones work too, with the receipt on screen.

Proof of visit

Each visit records a GPS position and its distance from the customer, so managers know the route was run.

Credit the way the trade works

Sell on account with a limit per customer, and collect on older invoices at later visits, whichever seller made the sale.

Crates and bottles

Returnables issued and collected at every visit, per customer and per van, so empties don’t go missing.

Who it’s for

Zimbabwean businesses that sell to the trade

  • FMCG distributors and wholesalers with vans on routes, in town and out of it.
  • Manufacturers selling direct to shops, bars and supermarkets from their own fleet.
  • VAT-registered businesses that need fiscalised receipts on mobile sales.

SalesBlitz also serves distributors in Zambia, Malawi and Botswana. Several currencies, routes, credit, returnables and reports work the same there; ZIMRA fiscalisation is for Zimbabwe. See also van sales software and distribution software.

Questions

SalesBlitz in Zimbabwe: your questions

Does SalesBlitz support ZiG?

Yes. ZiG (ZWG) is set up as a currency like any other, with its own price lists, cashbooks and exchange rate. Several trading currencies are part of every plan.

Can one invoice be paid partly in US dollars and partly in ZiG?

No. An invoice is in one currency and is paid in that currency; a payment in another currency is refused. A customer paying in ZiG is invoiced in ZiG, at the ZiG price.

Is it fiscalised with ZIMRA?

It can be. With fiscalisation switched on, the handheld sends every invoice to Fiscalizer, which submits it to ZIMRA; credit notes from the office go the same way. The receipt prints at once, with a QR code for the fiscalised invoice.

Which VAT rate does it use?

Each product carries its own tax, set in the portal or by your ERP. The standard rate is 15.5%, prices are VAT-inclusive, and zero-rated and exempt products are kept apart.

Does it work in rural areas without network?

Yes. The handheld sells, prints, takes payments, records crates and adds customers with no signal, and syncs when it finds one. Closing the run needs a connection.

Who is behind SalesBlitz?

SalesBlitz is a product of ZYOOLAH. Support is by email, at support@zyoolah.com.

What does it cost?

Plans are priced in US dollars per van per month, with every feature on every plan: $17 on your own Android device, $19 with receipts printed on a Bluetooth printer, and $30 with a Sunmi V2 Pro handheld whose repair and maintenance are on us. Back-office users are free.
